Is valley prepared for peaceful eid tomorrow?
Chinar Corps Commander, KJS Dhillon said the Valley is very peaceful and back to normalcy. He said shops are open and security forces helping out people for Eid. The Army added that people are moving in cars, buses, and ATMs, hospitals and other medical facilities are open and operational for everyone.Clampdown in Jammu and Kashmir continues after abrogation of Article 370 on Day 7 today. It is said that Kashmir Valley is peaceful as restrictions have been relaxed in some parts ahead of Eid tomorrow.Police also mentioned prohibitory orders were lifted from 10 districts in Jammu. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi asked the government and PM Narendra Modi to clear what is happening in Kashmir and Ladakh. Meanwhile, the Modi government is now preparing to carry out delimitation of assembly seats in J&K, the intentions for which have been made clear.
The Ministry of Home Affairs also pubished media reports about a protest by nearly 10,000 people in Kashmir as “fabricated and incorrect”. The Ministry said there had been a few stray protests in the Valley in the past few days against scrapping of J&K’s special status and none of these involved a crowd of more than 20 people.
